The AURES II third of six planned Regional Workshops – originally planned to take place in Berlin – will be held online on 26th June 2020, from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST. The virtual workshop will be run together with the German energy network Strommarkttreffen. Our Regional Workshops are held to validate intermediate results, collect feedback and new information, and disseminate project results.
The theme of the workshop is Renewable Auctions Revisited – Learnings from European Experiences. We will discuss how countries test new design approaches to reflect changing policy objectives and opportunities such as increasing the market compatibility of RE supportJust like administratively set support, auction-allocated su..., procuring renewables and storage jointly, promoting energy communities, and enabling market clearing in “zero-subsidy” situations.
The workshop is aimed at RES industries and power suppliers, as well as other stakeholders such as policy makers, regulators and associations. The event will be in webinar format, with eight short sessions (presentation followed by Q&A) planned.
