AURES II and the EU Horizon 2020 project PROMOTioN (PROgress On Meshed HVDC Offshore Transmission Networks) are jointly conducting a policy study on offshore hubs and energy islands over a period of 6 months. The aim of the study is to develop proposals for the regulatory design and a suitable international auctionAn auction is a market mechanism with the aims of allocating... design for a first cross-border energy island. The main focus will be on regulatory and market-relevant issues, based on the previous experience of the two projects. In addition, possible political barriers for cross-country collaboration as well as arising joint benefits will be highlighted.
This open stakeholder dialogue workshop aims at sharing ideas and discussing policy options and barriers for offshore hubs and energy islands. The workshop will host presentations by members of the two EU projects with preliminary findings and invite other stakeholders to share their views. The workshop will contain an interactive session.
